The Limassol New port commenced operations in 1974, after the Turkish invation and provides services to ships, loading/unloading of cargo and passenger traffic. It is the biggest and busiest port in Cyprus since most of the island’s cargo (importation and exportation) is handled here. The port is also a passenger terminal since there are 50 international cruise liners include Cyprus in their Mediterranean routes.
